THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN ‘s
THE HOLIDAYS BRING MORE OPTION PARALYSIS
THE DETAILS BECOME CLEAR ON THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN’S UPCOMING ALBUM
Morris Plains, NJ – (December 15, 2009)– Critically acclaimed rockers, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, are readying the debut of OPTION PARALYSIS, their first release for their brand new label PARTY SMASHER INC / SEASON OF MIST. The opus, recorded in Orange County, CA with longtime collaborator / producer Steve Evetts (The Used, Glassjaw, Every Time I Die) , will be officially available on March 23, 2010.
THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN ‘s previous work has been praised nearly universally by press worldwide “If you really want to know (their) songs,” says The New York Times“…you have to listen repeatedly and concentrate” calling them “extreme musical craft.”
Song titles announced thus far have been “Good Neighbor,” “Farewell, Mona Lisa,” “Crystal Morning” and “Gold Teeth On A Bum.” One of the latest titles put forth is “I Wouldn’t If You Didn’t” which guitarist Ben Weinman says was “…one of the last we wrote for the record. 'Love On An Oil Rig' - 14th September (CD / 12" / download)
This Is Fake DIY Records
"clattery Fall-esque drum tumbles, Slits-y female backing yelps and ... one of the best songs driven only by a girl tunefully whooping" - NME
"VEGC's main mark of distinction is the interplay between the male-female vocalists" - Uncut
"a genuine leap forward" - BBC
Since the release of their first album, The Victorian English Gentlemens Club toured for too long, then locked themselves away. They wrote 100 songs, disposed of 88 humanely, and have now laid out the remaining dozen on a 3" silver platter, for your dirty soul to revel in.
Their previous opus was based on a severe lack of musical understanding. Their eponymous debut saw them groping their instruments like over-anxious teenagers, fast, furious and lots of fun. Their second is full of confidence and somewhat brutally, demands your respect.
'Love On An Oil Rig' takes triple distortion, the most obscure of harmonies and refracts them through the prism of pop. Where the first record wore its influences on its sleeve, this one stands alone. The stripped down primal ideas are defined and sharp, retaining their well-developed Art school sensibilities of the absurd, the outrageous and the other. Since the recording, a new drummer and fourth club member has been recruited to enhance the ferocity of their sound, taking the noise to the next level with offset guitars, shouts and wails.
The first album dealt with foetal burials, plastic windows and banning gin in 1840. The second features parrots, the primitiveness of modern life and sexual yearning on long distance lorry drives. It's hard not be intrigued by the titles alone: 'Love on An Oil Rig', 'Women Versus Children', and 'Periscope Envy'.
This is the sound of the purest voices, guitars, basses, drums, circular saws, churches, hands, boots, thoraxes and lungs, juxtaposed to an awkward perfection. The band do not and will not use keyboards, synthesisers or system three acrylic.
In the last two years they have performed in three forests, two churches and one circus. They still live in Cardiff. They collectively enjoy: effects pedals, Sonic Youth, bells, taxidermy seagulls, yellow mackintoshes, distortion, bonsai, black gaffer tape, bone and ivory dominoes and Wire.
'Love On An Oil Rig' was produced, mixed and engineered by Charlie Francis.

The Lyrics Game, We were recently written up as a Diamond in the Rough over at 101d.com
We were recently written up as a Diamond in the Rough over at 101d.com. The story ranges from our views on the current music scene, our tendency to start impromptu raves, and of course our recording, Home Edition:
"...the step-up in recording, engineering and mixing has paid dividends as the five-track collection highlights the group's storytelling voyage over melodic resonance with smooth feminine vocals that stay in range rather than peel out. Basically this is the release other alternative indie acts should look to as a blueprint."
The Neon Tigers are now called The Deadlies. Different name... same great music.

Tax Revolt 09 @ SlideBar - no more Steuern
This was not a concert or a musical event but an event about politics. Taxes to be exact. Their was a Revolt at the Slide Bar in down town Fullerton Saturday March 7th. Thousands of people showed up to express their opinion, a lot of hate for Arnold, no on 1A, a lot of people were mad about the raise of taxes, from sales tax to car registration tax ect. I was impressed to see the turnout and the response from the orange county public.
Whether you believe in this, or not, or are a republican or a democrat, actions speak louder than words, so I encourage you to go to your next political event and show your opinion instead if just talking about it. (anyone can talk).
Thanks for listening. MC

Artist Vs Poet EP In Stores Everywhere!
Artist Vs Poet EP
In Stores Everywhere!
Today is a monumental day for five driven individuals from Dallas, Texas, also known as Artist Vs. Poet, as their debut, self-titled EP, hits stores everywhere. The album was recorded this year at The Tree Fort Studios in Los Angeles, CA with renowned producer Mike Green (Paramore, The Higher, Danger Radio). Buzznet will be streaming the EP, in its entirety, all week and offering a free downlowd of Runaway. Click here to listen to Artist Vs Poet.
The EP will include five tracks featuring a fan favorite Runaway, which is a song about escaping it all. "This song really connects with fans and gets them energized," says Craig Calloway. Another crowd favorite is Assurance Closure, which is "a song about having the right kind of closure, and feeling good about it," according to Craig.
The EP will also feature tracks Lisa Marie, Infallible Remedy, and All In; a special acoustic track, which is dedicated to "persistence and the thought of never giving up," according to vocalist Tarcy Thomason. "We decided to make this song acoustic because it's a little more personal that way," says Tarcy. "It can be kind of discouraging sometimes when bands first start up. This song is about just going for what you want really hard and the feelings of finally achieving it." In this case, that "something" just happened to be their recent successes as a band.
Although Artist Vs Poet is fairly new to the Fearless Records family (Plain White T's, Mayday Parade, The Maine), their music and tour schedules show they are a mature band destined for the stage like the others. Don't miss them as they come through this month on the Atticus Walk The Plank Tour, with headliners, The Classic Crime, and supporting acts A Change of Pace, and Lower Definition.
